[biological activity] 1,4-DPCA, a potent and selective inhibitor of prolyl-4-hydroxylase, is also an inhibitor of collagen hydroxylation in chemicalbook cells of human foreskin fibroblasts with IC50 of 2.4μM. 1,4-DPCA inhibits the alpha isoform of prolyl-4-hydroxylase and stabilizes HIF-1alpha protein.
