This N-nitrosamino acid has been isolated and identified in various types of tobacco, inlcluding snuff, chewing and pipe tobacco, cigars and cigarettes. The occurence of N-nitrosamino acids are highly correlated with levels of tobacco-specific N-nitrosamines which are known carcinogens in a wide range of animal species. |
